Going from buddy to boss can be stressful. Eliminate stress and anxiety in your new role by joining us in this engaging, powerful webinar that will provide the key tools you need for leadership success!
New leaders are in an important and challenging time of transition. And moments of transition require us to wrestle with the frustrations, stress and struggles of learning new ways of thinking and doing things.
Chances are, you are unclear, uncertain and anxious about the transitions are facing and have concerns such as:
How do I successfully lead my team without coming off as “bossy”?
How do I attain all of the knowledge that I SHOULD know as a supervisor, even when I’ve never really led in the past?
How should I communicate with my new team, in order to get things done effectively and collaboratively?
What about team members who are my friends? How do I balance those relationships with success in leading?
And that’s just the beginning! In your new role, you will have to confront many new issues that were not part of your responsibilities before you became a leader. And you must learn how to adapt to these transitions in order to be successful.
Getting promoted to a supervisory role is exciting . . . and scary. Often, new supervisors don’t get the training, support, and guidance they need to be successful.
Did you know that 40% of new managers fail within the first 18 months of promoting them? Why? Because they don’t get the training they need to deal with people, manage workloads, mediate conflict, juggle deadlines and much more. In other words, they got promoted because they were good at their job—not because they can actually lead people.
They’ve never led people, dealt with heavy time management issues, administered company policy or had to deal with upper management directly before. In other words, they’re completely unprepared.
The good news is first-time managers and supervisors can learn the kinds of things it usually takes managers years to learn.
